Brunch. Is this the best way to plan a rowing campus in Rome in 2024?
YES, IT IS! This is how the eight team members from the Marin Rowing Club (North of San Francisco – CA) decided to join the WalkItalyTours rowing campus on the Tiber in April 2024. The rowers will combine rowing techniques in the morning with video sessions, yoga, pasta at the boathouse, biking tours in the afternoon, rest, and some cultural guided tours.
My main concern is to make sure that the rowers are not affected by the “Stendhal syndrome”: the rowers might faint when they see the beauty of Rome from the river!
When I asked the team leader, Melanie Leavitt Cantarutti, what their expectations were, she told me:
“We are so excited to come to Rome and row on a new waterway in a gorgeous place. Most of us have been rowing for less than 5 years, but we are so happy to have found this amazing sport and made great friends along the way. In addition to rowing, we all love to travel, explore, and eat, so Rome seemed like the perfect destination. We appreciate being welcomed to a new club and we look forward to meeting people, learning new things, getting exercise and then enjoying time in Rome. And we hope that some club members will come and visit us in California.”
WalkItalyTours is ready to organize another session in fall 2023. If you you’d like to know more about this amazing adventure, feel free to text me!
