The recent article on The Guardian “Mayor of Sardinian village blames Google Maps for lost tourists” underlines the dangers to follow Google Map in Ogliastra area Supramonte. Rescuers in Baunei called out 144 times in past year to save visitors from impassable roads.
We have been in Supramonte in these days and we did not get lost.
Our hike was demanding but not strenuous. We started in San Maria Navarrese up to Us Piggius, then to Cala Goloritze and up to Cala Luna. Back to San Maria Navarrese by boat. The smell of carob trees flowers accompanied all over the tour together with breath-taking views of the Mediterranean sea from the top of the cliffs.
